Biancoviola | Aldo Viola

Made from a blend of Grillo, Catarratto, and Grecanico grapes, we hesitated to put it in the white or the amber category because the Catarratto was macerated on skins for three weeks and the other two added after. This wine is a great introduction to orange wine if you're just wanting to dip your toe in!


Egesta | Aldo Viola

Egesta is an orange wine that was on its skins for 6+ months in stainless steel and went through malolactic fermentation. While this wine is 100% Grillo grape, you'll no longer find it listed on the bottle. Aldo has taken a stance on the government imposing a specific flavor profile on the grape.

"I have to warn you that the variety is not mentioned on the label to protest against the imposing of a doctrine that it has unlawly owned the requirement of how a grillo wine should taste. No thanks i don t want to globalise my wines. They are individuals, special and unique."

The profile is full of fruit and light tannin including green apples and citrus as well as aromatic herbs. It will be slightly oxidative from the time on skins and can have an orangy, pinky, hue to it. Recommend decanting for 15-20 before drinking and serving slightly chilled! 


Krimiso | Aldo Viola

Talk about a great expression of an orange wine! This Catarratto was macerated on its skins for 5 months in steel tank. This brings out an incredibly aromatic profile of citrus, herbs, and savory notes. There is light tannin from the skin contact and we recommend decanting it for about 15-20 before drinking.

Flor de Mata | Vinessens

Talk about a different style of wine! It is fermented on its skins in clay amphora then remains on the skins in the amphora for two years under the cap of the flor. Similar to a fino/manzanilla sherry style.

Manual harvest into small crates with the muse fermenting on skins in clay amphora with no added SO2, 6 months on skins. Deep bronze color. Lovely sweet peach and apricot on the nose with the same plus lemon and some grip on the palette. Quite dry with some tannin and leaving you wanting more.
